About the job

The Carrier Management Specialist supports the execution of Bleckmann’s carrier management strategy for an assigned carrier portfolio, which may be defined by geography, service type, transport flow or customer segment. The role is responsible for evaluating carriers, managing carrier performance, supporting sourcing activities and providing carrier expertise to internal stakeholders. The role contributes to carrier-related decisions and improvements, while final carrier strategy, carrier selection and contract approval remain under the responsibility of the Carrier Manager.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of carriers and act as primary point of contact for operational and commercial follow-up.
  • Evaluate carrier performance against agreed service levels, cost targets, operational requirements and sustainability objectives, and coordinate improvement initiatives where required.
  • Support carrier sourcing and selection activities by identifying potential carriers, collecting proposals, performing evaluations and preparing recommendations.
  • Participate in commercial discussions and negotiations with carriers within agreed boundaries and approval frameworks.
  • Provide carrier-related expertise and recommendations to internal stakeholders such as Transport Solutions, Pricing, Service Delivery, Operations and Business Development.
  • Monitor transport market developments, carrier capabilities, service innovations and emerging trends, translating relevant insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of carrier-related processes, governance mechanisms, reporting structures and performance reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving transport cost efficiency, delivery performance, carrier quality and customer experience.

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, carrier management, logistics sourcing or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of transportation services, carrier operating models and performance management principles.
  • Experience evaluating carrier proposals, service models and commercial agreements.
  • Ability to analyse operational and commercial data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across operational, commercial and support functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently within defined governance frameworks.
  • Good understanding of supply chain, fulfilment and transport operations. Core Capabilities
